$10.5 Million Invested Back Into Whānau and Community

As of 28 July 2026, Te Rangitāmiro has approved funding for 56 active initiatives through the Other Whānau Initiatives Fund (OWIF), representing an investment of more than $10.5 million across Region 1.

These initiatives reflect the diversity, creativity and strength already present within our communities. From whānau navigation, housing and kai sovereignty, to rangatahi leadership, hauora, justice reintegration, cultural and environmental kaupapa, economic capability and marae-based development, each initiative responds to the aspirations and realities of the whānau and communities they serve.

OWIF has also welcomed a significant number of new Providers into our network, bringing new relationships, fresh ideas and even greater reach across our rohe. With 56 initiatives now underway, we’re excited about what lies ahead and look forward to seeing these kaupapa grow, the connections they create, and most importantly, the difference they will make alongside whānau.
