Matariki invites us to pause, reflect on the journey we've travelled, celebrate those who have walked alongside us, and look ahead with hope for the future.

For Rangitāmiro, this year's Matariki was especially meaningful as we celebrated our first anniversary as the Whānau Ora Commissioning Agency for Te Tai Tokerau, Tāmaki Makaurau, Waikato, Hauraki and Tūwharetoa.

As I reflect on our first year, I always come back to the vision of Whānau Ora. It's about the aspirations we hold for our whānau and our mokopuna because they deserve every opportunity to thrive. This past year has been about building strong foundations so that future generations are even stronger.

What I'm most proud of isn't just what we've achieved, it's the people behind those achievements. To our Provider Partners, Kaiwhiriwhiri, governance, founding partners, kaimahi and whānau, thank you. Together we've supported more than 3,800 whānau, strengthened our provider network and continued investing in the people who walk alongside whānau every day.

I also want to acknowledge the incredible kaupapa our Provider Partners continue to lead across our communities. Every day you are creating opportunities, responding to local needs and making a real difference in the lives of whānau. Your dedication is what brings Whānau Ora to life.

Looking ahead, one of the things I'm most excited about is our upcoming Kaiwhiriwhiri Whakarewa this October. It will be an opportunity to come together, strengthen connections, celebrate our Kaiwhiriwhiri workforce and continue investing in the people who are making such a positive impact in our communities.

As we move into our second year, our focus remains the same. We'll continue strengthening our Provider Partners, investing in our Kaiwhiriwhiri, growing meaningful partnerships and supporting whānau to achieve their aspirations.

To everyone who has been part of our journey so far, thank you. Your commitment, passion and belief in the Whānau Ora kaupapa inspire us every day.

Matariki reminds us that while we honour where we've come from, our greatest opportunities still lie ahead. I look forward to continuing this journey together.
